  • Progressive side wagers: Games like Caribbean Stud Poker often contain one of these. You usually place a wager ($1 is the normal amt.) to attempt to win a side jackpot that could be upwards of $25,000. Although big jackpots like these are particularly alluring, they’re also particularly difficult to win. You might have to hit a Royal Flush in order to hit this bet. Also, think about this- you play 20 hands and place the side wager every time. That’s $20 you should have used towards the actual game bet instead of a sucker wager. Imagine what you might have been able to win at a wager with better odds using that 20 dollars.
  • Single number bets in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has two 0’s on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has only 1. This shifts the complete casino advantage from 2percent with a single zero wheel to a whopping fivepercent in American. The single number bet has just a 1 in thirty eight chance of succeeding, which are very big odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red bets alternately which have a much smaller house advantage.
  • Keno: Any variation of Keno, and anyway you play it, the house edge can be a whopping twenty-five percent. Yes, that isn’t a error. Due to the huge amount of numbers you have to select, it isn’t recommended to wager on Keno to often. A couple of times for enjoyment, perhaps. But do not waste all your cash on it or you’ll quickly discover yourself beaten.
